Vince was born in Chester Hospital (now Crozer). He grew up in Glenolden, went to Interboro High School and became a teacher and coach at his alma mater.
At age 30, never having played college football, he tried out for the NFL Eagles. Against all odds, this Eagles season ticket holder went from the 700 level at the Vet stadium to the gridiron and made history. Vince became the oldest rookie in the NFL. 10/29/2009 Taste and Tour of the Countryside 2009 What an explosive night at Drexelbrook! With some of the areas top Chef's in the house, they delighted our guests with food and nobody left the building with an empty stomach! What a masterpiece; hosted by the Delaware County’s Brandywine Conference and Visitors Bureau, showcasing spectacular booth displays of the area's finest special event planners; including Conferences, Corporate Meetings, Holiday Parties, Special Events, Banquets, Galas, Group Outings and Fund Raisers!
Guests enjoyed special Chef Demonstrations that featured some of the area's finest preparing signature dishes right in front of you! With special commentary between the Chef and TVs Bill Boggs; we learned a few tricks of the trade for some pretty amazing dishes along with some wildly entertaining culinary artistry.

8/18/2009 Catersource a Big Success! The Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center was proud to host the Philadelphia one day seminar stop on Catersource’s 18 city tour! Sponsored by Ford Transit Connect, the Catersource Consulting Unit brought catering professionals a one-day workshop that helped roadmap the strategies our industry needs to maintain profitability, keep current customers and find new ones even in the face of this challenging economy.
Mike Roman and Carl Sacks presented Catersource’s proven concepts to help front and back-of-the-house staff, sales people, chefs, managers and owners overcome the challenges of catering during a recession. Learning how to establish cost-cutting and profit-making solutions, that will not only neutralize but capitalize on this unique economic climate, was just part of the many valuable lessons learned in this seminar!
Our guests were greeted with breakfast refreshments upon arrival and registration to help keep up focus and energy for the exciting day that lay ahead. 8/14/2009 Rally for Business 2009! Drexelbrook took us out to the ball game with food, drinks, prizes, & some good ol' fashioned ballpark food. Our guests enjoyed meeting some incredible people & businesses while having fun with raffles, announcing the game displayed on two awesome drop screens, and watching the hometown Phillies take on the Colorado Rockies, WINNING an exciting game that paralleled in comparison.
Our own CEO, Domenick Savino, called the shots in the announcer’s booth after the crowd was dazzled by an impressive performance of our National Anthem by a very talented young lady. 7/23/2009 Best of the Main Line Event 09 Drexelbrook captured second place in the "Best Display" category for best overall booth for its "Latin Night Club" theme. Staff dressed in a wide variety of unique colors, a wonderful "South of the Border" cuisine, the Drexelbrook Nightclub with awesome colors with a 15 foot high Martini Luge and a popular Latin Dance Club Music mix highlighted one of our most creative booths.

Women’s Resource Center (WRC) has served the Delaware Valley for over 30 years, and is dedicated to providing accurate information and referrals for women who are in crisis or transition. WRC supports women, strengthens families, and builds communities through counseling, legal, and educational services. The Center’s goal is to empower women to make informed decisions and achieve personal growth during life transitions in a safe, caring, and supportive environment.
Home of the Sparrow
Home of the Sparrow’s mission is to provide housing and supportive services to homeless women and mothers of children to help them move from homelessness to independence and self-sufficiency. Core feature of the program include the provision of safe housing, life skills training, mentoring, and links to community services to enable these women to build the skills they need to achieve independence and provide successfully for their children. Since the 1995 inception, more than 550 women and children have participated in the Transitional Housing Program. Nearly 80% of these families went on to live independently after completing the program.
Mommy’s Light
There are more than 20,000 maternally bereaved children and teens living in the Delaware Valley region. When a mother is terminally ill or dies, a multitude of questions, emotions and concerns can arise for her children and adult family members. Are my feelings normal? Does my child need additional help? What can I do or say to help? Is there a right way to grieve? Mommy’s Light provides free bereavement education materials and tradition fulfillment services to help answer these and other questions. The mission is to bring joy and comfort to children and teens by helping them keep alive traditions and simple pleasures they shared with their mothers.

1/18/2009 Prom Showcase Drexelbrook hosted its first "Prom Showcase". The event was a fundraiser for Springfield High School and attracted over 200 guests. High School students modeled dresses from Van Cleve and Saget's Formal Wear.
Raffles and Prizes were awarded and students had an opportunity to meet with professionals providing services for their prom. 11/19/2008 Happy Anniversary Robert Bruni Rober Bruni, a veteran on the Drexelbrook Culinary Team, celebrated his 20th anniversary as a Drexelbrook employee on Wednesday. Robert was welcomed at lunch time with a surprise Happy Birthday song, birthday cake and gift basket from his fellow employees and friends. We at Drexelbrook wish Robert the very best, thank him for his years of service and look forward to many anniversaries to come!
10/14/2008 Taste & Tour of the Countryside Drexelbrook captured second place in the "President's Award" category for best overall booth for its potrayal of "Heaven".
Staff dressed in all white, "heavenly" cuisine, the gates to heaven and music with "Heaven" in the title highlighted our most creative booth.
Our good friends at J.Scott Catering did a matching booth from "Hell", servers as devils, devilish drinks and damn great food.
Taste & Tour of the Countryside is an annual hospitality event hoted by the Brandywine Convention and Visitors Bureau that attracts over 2000 planners, HR professioanls and hospitality professionals. http://www.tasteandtour.org/
9/30/2008 Myfoxphilly Best Venue Wow!!!...We are so excited to be this year's winner of the myfoxphilly "HOT LIST" for "Best Venue in Philadelphia".
